GAEP May L&L

  • KEMRON Environmental Services 1359-A Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard Northwest Atlanta, GA, 30318 United States (map)

Join us for an informative discussion on GAEPD Cold-water Watershed Mapping by the team from Edwards-Pitman Environmental.

This will be an IN-PERSON ONLY presentation with a cap of 50 attendees.

Presentation Summary

Current guidance for determination on cold-water watersheds is based strictly on the wording in the Georgia Code. The wording and interpretation of this is not always as clear-cut as we consultants would like. After discussing some of the issues with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and how it can cause problems during project development if the interpretation is not clear, GDOT determined that it would be beneficial to have GIS files that can be utilized to assist with rule interpretation. Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. in coordination with Arcadis and GDOT coordinated with Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GADNR) Environmental Protection Division (EPD) in the development of a new tool to guide the user in determining if a project occurs within a cold-water watershed or not.
